In
1984 under the ownership of P.S.Kuriachen, Elba Plastic Industries
was established at Kottayam. Here plastic files, dairy covers, shopping
bags etc were manufactured and sold inside and outside Kerala. During the period 1988-89, Elba received the Kerala distribution of Caprihans India Limited for supply of good quality plastic, clear plastic, painted plastic, pvc flooring materials. |

Caprihans is the Indian subsidiary company of the world famous company ‘Enovies vinyl’ which is a British company . |

This
company has a number of branches in different states of India. The
products of this company are distributed all over Kerala –
from Kasargode to Tiruvananthapuram and these products are distributed
by Elba Traders to over 250 shops. At the same time a new firm called Elba Traders was established. This establishment was established for the purpose of wholesale trading of plastic, rexin etc. Other than Caprihans, Elba Traders got the distribution rights of many other Rexin companies, PVC, Flooring companies and carpet companies. Among these the prominent companies are Royal Cushion Vinayil, Hithkari Carpets, Bhore Industries etc. |

In
1992 , Elba Traders moved to a brand new show room on Carithas junction
on M.C. Road,Kottayam. In 1995, Elba Traders began their own Trading
Centre at Carithas junction. This building is three-storeyed and
has an area of 7500 sq feet. At this time Elba got new dealerships
from several companies.The prominent companies among them are Duro
Flex which sells mattresses, pillows etc, Sheela group of Companies
with their products Star Light and Sleep Well. Other than these
there are good quality bed sheets, pillow covers, cushions, blankets,
raincoats, central carpets and a variety of door mats, are being
sold either as wholesale or as retail. In the year 1998, a prominent
company called Plastic Enterprises manufacturing plastic corrugated
sheet under the name of Corpac, gave distribution rights of the
whole of Kerala state to Elba Traders. This product has great demand.
During 1999-2000 Darshan Texcoat Industries, a Bombay based company
gave Elba Traders the distrubution rights of the whole of Kerala.
Their main products are making the topping for jeeps and plastic
sheets for making nylon fabric bags. |

A
lot of changes started taking place in the trading pattern of Elba
Traders .Wholesale trading started in furnishing, plastic, rexin
etc. The ground floor of the showroom was renovate and furnished
and curtains were shifted there. The period 2001-2002, Elba Traders
received the distribution rights of Raymonds company furnishing
cloth for the whole of Kerala. On August 15th 2003, Elba Traders
opened a new branch in Ernakulam at Chittoor road. This showroom,
which has an area of 2500 sq feet, has more than 200 furnishing
Cloth of different companies for sale. After every twenty days the
representatives of the company receive orders, give necessary suggestions
and thereby there is a good relationship between the customer and
the distributor. At Elba we provide 200 different types of furnished
clothes and more than 1000 curtain clothes. The items available
at Kottayam showroom are also available at Ernakulam showroom. |
